Mobility is the freedom to move from one European country to another, and while doing so, to both experience cultural difference and feel a sense of unity with other Europeans. The Forum advocates for measures to be taken against the various barriers that impede mobility, including visa requirements.
The European Youth Forum promotes the rights to mobility for young people through sustained advocacy on the topic of visa and residence permit liberalisation. Building on past work, the Forum aims at including a new visa category for all types of youth exchanges, volunteering and youth work activities. Furthermore, the Forum hopes to ease administrative procedures for issuing visas and residence permits for non-EU pupils, students and volunteers coming to the European Union in revision of the Visas Directive (EC Directive 2004/114).
We aim at gathering and elaborating on existing European best practices in the field of enhancing youth mobility, such as the Balkan Window or particular visa facilitation processes bilaterally established between the EU and other countries.
