NEWS

Statement of Ms Panagiotopoulou-Kassiotou during her "One minute statement" at the Plenary session of the EP in Strasbourg (France) on 21 April 2008.

YFJ translation form Greek stament (original version in Greek):

<<Ms. Panagiotopoulou-Kassiotou draw the attention of her colleagues in the fact that “since today the ratificationfor the Written Statement 33 is open, that concerns the role of youth in EU policies." As she stated, "youth is affected from unemployment and we should focus on this group for the present and the future of EU".

With the written declaration plan the members-states are asked “to take into account youth in all relevant policy sectors, to discuss with them in a structured dialogue and plan policies in education and Life-Long-Learning, in employment, social inclusion, health, youth autonomy, mobility, fundamental rights and non-discrimination". In that way we can hope to a better future of this group which is scarce to find because of demographic problem, the Greek MEP stated concluding her speech.>>
