The European Youth Forum (YFJ) is an independent, democratic, youth-led platform, representing 98 National Youth Councils and International Youth Organisations from across Europe. The YFJ works to empower young people to participate actively in society to improve their own lives, by representing and advocating their needs and interests and those of their organisations towards the European Institutions, the Council of Europe and the United Nations. |
The European Youth Forum (YFJ) has launched an informal platform to represent young migrants and young people with migrant background. This is only the beginning! The Youth Forum will facilitate the start up of the platform, coordinating the open and initially informal process. The platform should also address the existing representation gap of young migrants and young people with migrant background at the European level.
Based on the YFJ 2009 – 20010 Work Plan, the platform will strive to achieve greater participation and inclusion of young migrants and young people with migrant background. First of all, by strengthening the voices of young migrants and young people with migrant background and their capacity to advocate for improving their fundamental rights. Secondly, the Youth Forum aims at achieving greater inclusiveness of its Member Organisations by in particular building their capacity to reach out more to young migrants and people with migrant background.
