Tools Utilized in Youth Work Development

The YWD is a constant process within the organisation. On the one hand, it analyses the situation, providing tools to address its needs while already evaluating the new situation and developing new responses to new needs.  The YWD aspect of YFJ work uses a series of tools that vary in size, reach and duration. YFJ tries to adapt the tools used to the realities addressed, they can either be supportive, reactive or pro-active.

1.Pro-active tools are the ones that approach the issue through an initiative by YFJ itself when the need is identified and aim to investigate on the possibility and undertake actions to start a process (Study visits, membership surveys, YWD events )

2.Reactive tools are used when the need arises to respond to developments in the youth sector; good or bad and within or outside of the membership of the YFJ (Support visits, Ad-hoc actions)

3.Supportive tools are the ones following the processes, sustaining and reinforcing partnerships, and realising common actions between YFJ and its members and partners (membership development, YWD Events)
