Brief history: The Austrian National Youth Council (OJV) is the legal representative body for youth organizations in Austria and stands up for the interests of 49 children‘s and youth organizations.
OJV focuses on the political, social, economic and cultural interests of young people and presents them to politicians, the media and the public.
The member organizations of the Austrian National Youth Council cover a wide spectrum of youth work: They encourage religious, ecological, political and cultural involvement of young people. For all these many organizations the OEJV raises its one strong voice, guarantees participation and political co-determination.
Objectives: Promote mutual understanding and co-operation.
Promote the education and development of young people on a personal, social and cultural level.
Present proposals on matters concerning children and youth policies at the international level and also present statements within the scope of legal expertise procedures.
