Elections are an essential part of European Youth Forum democratic life.
Every two years, the platform elects its political representatives that will implement the decisions of the General Assembly. In November 2016, the member organisations will elect the members of the following statutory bodies:
– The Board (8 members), its President and two Vice-Presidents
– The Financial Control Commission (4 members)
– The Consultative Body on Membership Applications (4 members)
Candidates are nominated by member organisation and will have the opportunity to debate together about their vision for the platform ahead of the General Assembly. The election process shall be open, democratic and transparent.
The Youth Forum Code of Conduct shall apply to the election process. Any complaints will be treated confidentially.
8 JUNE 2016 – Opening of the applications
9 SEPTEMBER 2016 – Online information chat with interested candidates
2 OCTOBER 2016 – Closing of the applications
8-9 OCTOBER 2016 – Review of CBMA applications – Board put forward its proposal
12 OCTOBER 2016 – Extended deadline if gender balance not reached
19 OCTOBER 2016 – Announcement of the final list of candidates
OCTOBER 2016 (Last week-end) – Info session with declared candidates
17-19 NOVEMBER 2016 – General Assembly: debate and elections
