Building a European and international civil society is part of the story of the European Youth Forum. As one of the largest and oldest European NGOs and platforms, it plays an active role in various civil society networks. The Forum actively works on empowering civil society, and promotes civil dialogue in the institutions it works with.
In particular, the Youth Forum is member of permanent structures, such as the NGO Liaison Committee of the European Economic and Social Committee, the Social Platform, ECAS, and the European Alliance for Volunteering. It participates in several other ad hoc networks in Europe and beyond. In addition, the Forum sets up partnerships for specific processes, such as the coalition supporting quality internships, or its collaboration with EUCIS-LLL and other educational stakeholders.
Through its work with civil society organisations (CSOs), the Forum reaches out to other sectors. It provides organisational and youth policy expertise, and offers to other CSOs the benefit of a channel to reach out to youth movements across Europe. Working with other civil society organisations strengthens the goal of the Youth Forum to strive for youth rights, and enlarges the number of movements and organisations supporting this cause.
