Quality Internships

More than ever, young people have to overcome an increasingly long and hard journey to enter the labour market.

While internships today have become a common way to get the necessary ‘work experience’, too often they contain little educational value and have started to replace real jobs, offering none of the security and value of a real job. The European Youth Forum works with different stakeholders, trade unions, companies, and institutions, to ensure that quality internships will become a reality for all young Europeans.

We urge all providers of internships and apprenticeships to commit to providing quality working conditions and to apply a clear and coherent code of conduct in order to end the use of young Europeans as a cheap labour force.
