Eastern Partnership Youth Forum 2015

24. 02. 2015

This month over 200 participants, from all over Europe, discussed solutions to the growing problem of youth unemployment. The unemployment rate for young people across Europe is as high as 25% and increasing. Representatives from National Youth Councils highlighted the importance of volunteering, quality education and assuring quality internships and jobs as ways to combat unemployment amongst young people.

Doru Curosu and Lora Lyubenova, board members of the European Youth Forum, attended the conference in Riga, Latvia. Lora gave a speech at the event about the possibilities and opportunities of building jobs for young people.

“It was a great place to inspire and create innovative approaches towards the employability of young people. Youth representatives came up with relevant solutions to take into consideration for future European policies,” said Doru Curosu.

The recommendations and solutions from this month’s conference will be structured into a single document that will be presented in the Spring Summit 2015, which will take place in May in Riga, Latvia.

The European Youth Forum was delighted to attend this important event to better understand the needs of young people in this respect and we hope that these suggestions and solutions will help to inspire young advocates to work towards a better future for all.
