Turin as European Youth Capital

Torino Youth Capital 2010 “YOUR TIME” was an open source project. The idea of YOUR TIME was to give youth the stage, letting them be protagonists of the city.

The programme was a sort “box” filled with 100 projects and events organised by youth NGO, public bodies, single individual, single persons, and administrations.
One of the main issue 2010 YOUR TIME was sustainability: creations of new projects and new spaces, aimed to last after 2010.
The programme was divided into 6 categories: Your voice, Your actions, Your talent, Your space, Your choice, Special Events.

Some of the events and issues created during the European Youth Capital year are still working: Torino Street Style an urban sport festival; Pic Turin, a circuit of urban art graffiti created in an international contest from  international graffiti artists, today used as touristic tour; the Cecchi Point, one new youth center opened in the city during 2010.
