Investment in youth
EU leaders must put their money where their mouth is and make youth a priority.
Even though young people are now the group at highest risk of poverty and social exclusion, the proportion of the EU budget used directly for youth remains low. The 2018 budget of the European Union and the post 2020 Multiannual Financial Framework must provide all young people with quality opportunities. It is crucial that the budget for key programmes, such as Erasmus+, should be increased and that investment in youth should be mainstreamed across all policy areas.
