Vision for the EU Youth Coordinator

In May 2018 the European Commission launched a Communication on a new EU Youth Strategy for time period 2019-2027. For the first time it proposed to establish EU Youth Coordinator. This paper proposes concrete measures to shape the EU Coordinator's position, so it can serve for youth policy coordination within the European Commission.

The policy paper outlines the political demands of the European Youth Forum and its member organisations in view of the negotiations and adoptions of the Erasmus+ successor programme within the post-2020 EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). A broad alliance of minority organisations across Europe initiated the “Minority SafePack Initiative – one million signatures for diversity in Europe”, including our member, Youth of European Nationalities. Resolution on key issues concerning European youth, especially marginalised youth

Europe has been struggling with several key issues in recent years, including the increased displacement of people, the rise of xenophobia and intolerance in society as well as a lack of possibilities and motivation of youth to participate. In the current uncertain political and social context that affects young people, they can be powerful catalysts for positive change and contributors of innovative solutions to Europe’s problems.

The Youth Vision for the Future of Europe

This document outlines the European Youth Forum’s vision of a better Europe, one which includes and directly relates to young people. As young people and the most pro-European generation, we reject the current reality where political decisions alienate youth and exclude us from society. Here, we present the Europe we want. A youth vision of a Europe where decisions are made with young people, in a sustainable, democratic and inclusive way.
