International Interns Day
Join us for a cup of coffee this Interns Day at Schuman roundabout! The coffee is free, but your work shouldn’t be!
The fight for quality working conditions for young people takes us to the Schuman Roundabout in Brussels the Tuesday morning of the 10th of November to mark the International Interns Day, close to where decisions affecting young people’s lives are taken daily.
- 📅 Date & 🕢 Time: 10.11.2026, 08:30 – 10:00 CET
- 📍 Location: Schuman Roundabout, Brussels
EU must bring us a step closer to fair internships
A new law on improving the working conditions of interns and fighting bogus internships is currently being negotiated by the EU institutions.
This unique window of opportunity to improve young people’s lives cannot meet its end in a forgotten shelf somewhere in an EU building. It is the EU institution's duty to bring this ship into the shore!
We remind them that their task at the end of this negotiating process is to guarantee that interns have decent working conditions and their rights are respected at the workplace - same as every other worker.
Can you bring me a cup of coffee?
There should be much respect for those who make and get us coffee everyday - even if that person is your intern! Making coffee is work, and work has to be paid!
Nevertheless, interns do way more than that, and should be treated fairly at the workplace. They bring innovation, fresh ideas and academic knowledge into the workplace. Everyday they perform their tasks and learn by doing, actively contributing to their organisation. This must be legally recognised!
This Interns Day, we invite you to pass by Schuman Roundabout in Brussels on your way to work and share a cup of coffee with us! We will flip things around: your coffee will be free, your work shouldn’t be.
