Safer and Braver Spaces

How do you build spaces that are safe and open -  where people actually feel brave to speak their minds? Whether you're curious about creating brave spaces, working on something related to it, or simply want to meet others in town exploring the same questions, this evening is for you.

Join us for a panel discussion that starts by examining the foundations of safe spaces -  what they are, why they matter, and the barriers to accessing or participating in them - before turning to how spaces can become braver. Panellists will explore:

  • How to navigate conversations across differing perspectives;
  • How to encourage respectful disagreement, active listening, and genuine understanding;
  • How to make space for honest conversations and build stronger connections despite differences.

The evening includes a guided interactive session, followed by a reception with plenty of time for informal chats, new connections, and good food.
