As every summer, many youth organisations organised their summer camps these past months.

While summer camps can be of many different sizes, from just a few people to several thousands of participants, cover really different topics, from politics to scouting or volunteering; they still share some common features. Young people from different age groups have the chance to enjoy a fantastic youth work experience for few days to a few weeks, to leave the cities behind and go back to basics, and learn how to live together.

These camps provide a really nice opportunity for participant to learn from each other, taking part in the same activities and sometimes also organising some workshops.

International camps, bringing together people from different countries and backgrounds offer young people the possibilities to discover new cultures. Jo, just came back from the World Jamboree in Japan, the international gathering from the scouts: “I met 30000 people from all over the world and had the chance to live with them for 2 weeks. I really had the time of my life”.

Did you take part to a summer camp this year? Where did you go?
