Young European Socialists support the LoveYouthFuture campaign!
On 8th and 9th April, the European Youth Forum was at the European Parliament to call on MEP candidates to support its European elections campaign - LoveYouthFuture.
Political party youth organisations also committed to supporting the campaign. Among these was the Young European Socialists (YES).
According to Thomas Maes, YES secretary general:
“The LoveYouthFuture pledges are clearly in line with the YES ideology. We obviously support these. The YES campaign is focusing on three main issues: youth employment, democratic economy and democratic institutions. The Young European Socialists will support their young candidates and also present a special Youth Manifesto.”
The LoveYouthFuture campaign aims to bring attention to the solutions that youth are demanding from political parties and candidates. Young people across Europe face common challenges, including unemployment, social marginalisation and political exclusion and the LoveYouthFuture pledges show how the EU can combat these problems.
With seven weeks to go until the European Elections, nearly 180 MEPs and candidates from nearly all countries and political parties have signed the pledges. The leading candidate of the YES mother party, the Party of Euroepan Socialists (PES) Martin Schulz has already signed the Pledges, as has Ska Keller (Greens).
You can learn more about the YES campaign at their website (below). The European Youth Forum encourages young people to contribute ideas for a better Europe and make their voice heard in the European elections in May!
