Be Seen, Be Heard: Vote16 petition
Join us in making lowering the voting age to 16 a priority. For all our futures' sake. Sign for change 👇
The world needs us as changemakers. All of us. Together.
Up against climate change, growing inequality and economic uncertainty, young people are showing up, ready for the challenge. We are here: speaking up, organising, rallying, questioning and volunteering for a better life today, and for all our future’s sake.
The urgency of our times calls for new energy, creativity and optimism in politics. It is time for all of us to be seen and be heard where decisions get made.
Across Europe, some 16 and 17 year olds can already vote. Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Malta and Switzerland have opened some elections to young people because their voices matter.
But rules from the past exclude 16 and 17 year olds in other countries from voting.
The future belongs to all of us. We are calling on all European governments and the European Parliament to act and lower the voting age to 16 for all local, regional, national and European elections. Young people’s opinions matter when it comes to our planet, our societies, and our democracy. Let's shape the future together.
The petition is now closed
