Join the European Youth Capital 2028 Focus Group

16/04/2025

Do you have experience in fostering young people's participation in cities? Have you implemented European youth policies at a local level, or through the European Youth Capital title?

we would like to hear from you!

At the European Youth Forum we are making sure that active youth participation is at the core of the European Youth Capital 2028 selection process. That's why we are looking for five young people who will form the EYC 2028 Focus Group.

what will you do?

You will help the jury to analyse the five short-listed candidate cities’ applications:

  • Chișinău (Moldova)

  • Leeuwarden (Netherlands)

  • Paralimni (Cyprus)

  • Pernik (Bulgaria)

  • Podgorica (Montenegro)

With the help of an expert, the focus group will dive deeper into the specific aspects of each city's application and develop recommendations that will help the jury decide who will be the 2028 European Youth Capital! The assessment will also be sent to the finalists themselves as feedback on their applications.

more details

The Focus Group will meet in Lublin, Poland (European Youth Capital 2023) on 23 and 24 July 2025. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the European Youth Forum, according to the reimbursement rules presented in the European Youth Forum’s financial guidelines.

sounds interesting? applications are now closed!

Deadline: 30 April 2025 12:00 AM CET

Open letter: Don't cut young people out

01/07/2025

Young people deserve dedicated spaces for learning, mobility, and solidarity beyond classrooms. Diluting or merging Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps risks leaving many behind. On Friday 27/05/2025 we sent a letter to call for a strong youth chapter, an independent ESC, and five times more funding. Young people's future must keep moving forward, not backwards. Europe should not cut costs on young people.
