The Youth Forum stand at the YO!Fest: a vibrant space of activities and debates
Thousands of young people participated in the European Youth Event 2014 and exchanged their ideas for a better Europe in a vibrant European atmosphere from the 9th to the 11th of May in Strasbourg. Over the three days,the stand dedicated to the European Youth Forum was been a central place for participants to gather and it was really busy throughout.
Hundreds of participants passed by the big tent which marked the entrance of the YO!Village to pick up publications, information about the Youth Forum and also to chill on beanbags and deckchairs in the sun while having informal chats and debates about the future of Europe with other YO!Fest-goers or to get involved in the various activities run by the Youth Forum staff and the volunteers.
More than a hundred wishes were posted on the giant “dazibao” for the future of Europe Youth. Young people called for more solidarity and tolerance between the different countries of Europe. Most of the messages insisted on the urgency of providing new answers to the crisis and giving more rights to young people in Europe.
As well as the message board, there were many other activities to try out. Young people passing by were invited to share their thoughts on education through various quizzes and games such as “dot your competences”, where they could list their main competences on a big blank sheet and chat about how they acquired them and on how education can be improved in Europe.
As well as all the activities taking place across the YO!Village and the Youth Forum stand, the Youth Forum ran several other stands, including on its LoveYouthFuture, League of Young Voters and Vote at 16 campaigns as well as one on internships, mobility and structured dialogue.

Gathering to debate ideas for a better Europe, young people attending EYE and YO!Fest was the opportunity of a wide array of debates, talks, activities, workshops all mixed with a vibrant atmosphere and fun activities and entertainment in the YO!Village. From DJs playing at YO!Jam, to street artists at YO!Graffiti, music, dance, areas for chilled out chats and stands run by many different youth organisations.
