Safeguarding Civic Space for Young People in Europe

Over the years, we have, unfortunately, witnessed a crackdown against civil society, including youth organisations, in various European countries. This trend is continuing in 2020, with extremely worrying signs that the COVID-19 health crisis is being used to gain political control, putting many dimensions of civic space under threat. With our new study, Safeguarding Civic Space for Young People in Europe, the European Youth Forum aims to put the spotlight on challenges faced by youth organisations in Europe.

Thank you for our successful online ExGA!

17. 06. 2020
On 6 June, we were very proud to host our first ever online Extraordinary General Assembly (ExGA). Despite the difficult circumstances, the event was able to bring our Members together and show that despite being separated, youth organisations remain united. We will continue to find ways of supporting each other, continuing our work and finding innovative solutions.

The European Youth Blueprint To Recovery

We, the young generation, might not be the most hit by the COVID-19 health crisis, but its consequences will form our disadvantage for decades to come, if no measures are taken. Since the beginning of the crisis, the European Youth Forum has worked to ensure that no young person was left behind and that youth organisations were supported in their solidarity actions. With this European Youth Blueprint to Recovery, we present a series of policy recommendations aiming at influencing the institutional response to the crisis.
Statement

All over the world, black lives matter

04. 06. 2020
Following another act of systemic racism and police brutality in the United States of America, large protests have been met with extreme violence. The European Youth Forum stands firmly against any form of racism, in solidarity with peaceful civil rights protesters and against any form of violent response.
